A wooden pavilion stood on the Hohe Promenade until 1813, and in 1849, a monument to the composer Hans Georg Nägeli was inaugurated. The original location of the monument was near the current Steinbrunnen at Caroline-Farner-Weg 31, but it was later moved to its current location near the entrance of the Kantonsschule Hohe Promenade.
