At the Cathedral of Lausanne, a night watchman shouts out the hour between 10pm and 2am from the top of the bell tower, perpetuating a 600-year-old tradition. The current night watchman, Renato Häusler, has been doing this job since 1987 and finds it a unique experience, being a link in a long chain of watchmen. He also enjoys the solitude and the breathtaking view of Lausanne at night.
